A Note From Caroline:

My goal is simple: To provide a coaching solution that offers expert advice on how to train the body and mind to run a marathon.

I was a newbie runner. I was 24 and had the idea of running a marathon. I was “sporty” and wanted a challenge so I signed up to do the London marathon. I knew very little about what to do and how to train properly. I completely under trained and thought I could “wing it”. I had no plan and no idea of what distances to run. I had no idea how fast or slow to run and I completely messed up my fuelling strategy- badly!!

Come race day, I showed up in old shoes and the furthest I had run was 25 kms. I felt terrible during the race but I FINISHED. And despite all that hard work to make it to the finish line, I LOVED THE EXPERIENCE.

Ever since then running has become a passion of mine. I have gradually become immersed in the world of marathon training both personally and professionally.

I spent years getting to know what works for my running and what doesn’t. I looked at what I was doing wrong and where I could improve. I gradually developed running strategies that kept me injury free and running for longer- even in my 40s..

In the last 20 years I’ve helped dozens of athletes with running injuries. As a physical therapist treating running injuries, I have to know everything about the athlete in order to make an impact.

Helping runners is not just about helping their bodies, it’s about their training regime and their mindset too.

Over time I found myself coaching my injured patients. Advising them on how to train (I have a background in sports science) and helping them with their mindset- dealing with a setback and the doubts and fear that come with it.

I went on to do some training to become a wellness coach, a certified running coach and that’s when Marathon Grit was born!

My goal is simple. To provide a coaching solution that offers expert advice on how to have the body and mind to run a marathon. A solution to be a COMPLETE runner and get the results that you want. No matter where you are in the world.
